About Our Leaders
We have a team of leaders who are dedicated to serving, teaching and directing the young people in this ministry. They are all united in their desire to teach the children the word of God and Godly principals that the children will be able to use not only today but for the rest of their lives. Our hope is that these children will not only learn lessons about God, but that they each begin and continually develop a personal relationship with God that will continue to grow and mature through out their lives.
Service Information
Our services are held on every other Friday and they begin at 7pm and end approximately 8:30pm- 9pm. Parents are welcome to stay if they would like.
Though every service can be different we do have a basic Order of Service. We begin every service with the Pledges (the American and Christian flags and the Holy Bible) and the Lords Prayer. Then we begin our worship service, which normally consist of 2-3 songs. Children are allowed to share their memory verses. We then take up an offering. After the offering the lesson begins. When the lesson is over, all the children are prayed for. Then they will be directed to either a craft and then dinner or dinner and practice for a special song or dance. Then the Children are dismissed.
Dinner
There are people within our church who have generously offered to provide dinner and drinks for the youth at every service.
Memory Verses
We do have a list of memory verses from A-Z that the children are able to memorize on their own time. If any child has memorized a verse they will share it on Friday night and will be given a sticker to place on their chart. After each 5 stickers the children will receive a treasure from the treasure chest. We currently have 7 children who have 5 or more memory verses.
Special Song or Dance
The special songs or dances will be practiced for a period of time on Friday night services, and will be performed at a Sunday Morning services.
Current Lessons:
February 10, 2012 - Chris taught on Ruth - how she put Naomi ahead of herself. In doing so, David and Jesus came out of her lineage. Had Ruth stayed in Moab this would not have occurred. Putting others above yourself not only blesses them, but in the end you'll be blessed as well. Serenity received an award for turning in her homework. The meal was prepared by Sheila.
January 27, 2012 - 26 kids attended. Christine taught on Deborah - how she was a prophet and judge in the Old Testament who heard from God and directed the people. She was able to hear God's voice above the voices of all the people, and that wasn't easy. Thanks to Mardo who made tacos and to Gina for the homemade cookie dessert.
January 13, 2012 - Rev. Jen taught about Bible hero Joshua and the walls of Jericho - how Jericho blocked the Israelites from entering the Promised Land. They then had to walk around the city for six days, and on the seventh day the walls came down. And how God use Rahab to help the spies and how they later let her and her family live. Jen showed the kids the shofar - what the ram's horn probably looked like. Of course all of the kids loved that. They made valentines to God and placed them on the bulletin board. One of the moms provided dinner (Christine prepared it). Mardo and Christina brought cupcakes for Bryan's birthday.
